Lil Hawks Registration

Overview

The Lil Hawks Youth Basketball Program is a recreational league that provides boys and girls the opportunity to learn the game, develop skills, and play basketball. The purpose of this league is to learn, but ultimately, HAVE FUN! Teams practice once a week and play 7 regular season games plus a season end tournament. Lil Hawks is open to all boys in Grades 1-8 (4 divisions: Grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, & 7-8) and all girls in Grades 1-6 (2 divisions: Grades 1-3, & 4-6).

We need coaches! This league consists of parent volunteer coaches. Check the appropriate box during registration to indicate your coaching interest. There will be a coaches’ meeting prior to the Skills Evaluation.

League Info

Participation in the Lil Hawks Youth Basketball League is based on a first-come, first-served basis and spots are limited. Each division will ideally have 6 teams and distributed as evenly as possibly once the max limit has been reached. A Wait List Registration will happen if this occurs.

Coaches determine the practice schedule for their teams. If you are not coaching, your practice night will be determined by the coach that drafts your player. This could include any weeknight. Games will take place on weekends. We are unable to accommodate "same team" requests (exception is siblings in the same league). Players are evaluated and drafted to ensure competitive balance. The coaches pick the teams, and the coaches pick the practice schedule.

There will be a coaches’ virtual meeting prior to the Skills Evaluation on Wednesday, October 1st at 7pm. A link will be sent out via email a week prior to the email.

All fees are due at the time of registration. Each Player receives a brand-new uniform, included in the registration fee, that is theirs to keep. Fees cover uniform, facility use fees, referees, and more costs that go into making our program great!

Early Bird Fees - $250.00 (September 8, 2025 - October 15, 2025)

General Player Fees - $300.00 (October 15, 2025 - November 7, 2025)

Sibling Discount - $30.00

Hillgrove Teacher/Staff Discount - $50.00

Discounts cannot be combined.

Refund Policy:

We understand that circumstances may arise where you need to seek a refund. A full refund is possible before November 1st. After November 1st, partial refunds of 50% will be distributed. After November 7th, there are no refunds.

Skills Evaluation:

The skills evaluation will be held on Sunday, November 9th. A schedule for the skills evaluation will be sent out closer to the date. Each player is required to attend one session to participate. It is imperative that your child attends to ensure that teams are distributed evenly. If your player does not attend the Skills Evaluation, they will be placed on a team by Coach Q or Ms. Berry.

Practice/Games:

Practices will begin late November/early December. Each time will be assigned 1 day a week to practice. Each practice will be 1 hour long.

Regular season games will occur December to early February. End of season games will take place immediately after regular season. A full schedule will be available by December 1st.
